Knee conditions can result for multiple reasons, including illnesses, injuries, and age. The knee is an active joint, which means it sustains a lot of wear-and-tear and is more susceptible to damage. The knee is one of the largest and most complex joints in the body. Conditions and injuries in this part of the body include knee osteoarthritis; meniscal tears; kneecap irritation (chondromalacia patella); ACL, PCL, and MCL strains or tears; gout; bursitis; bursitis; and swelling. This is not an exhaustive list, but only the most common knee conditions Dr. Atwater sees at OSA in Vero Beach.
In this blog, we will cover all those knee conditions, along with knee surgeries and procedures such as cortisone injections, hyaluronan injections, replacements or excisions, arthroscopic (joint) operations, and ACL repair. Again, this list is not exhaustive.
